A word from the Broker, Jeanne Imach
I grew up in Poland (Europe) We never
knew what it meant to move. People were born and lived their entire
lives within a few mile radius. Families were raised in three
generation households where grandmas and grandpas were always in the
kitchen waiting for you to come home, where home smelled with freshly
baked babkas and cheese stuffed pierogi, where people stopped in
without big announcements and there was always something interesting
to talk about. Most people had no phone, no car, and were not in a
hurry.
I moved to America and learned how to celebrate
Thanksgiving, eat popcorn and pumpkin pie, learn all about Tupperware
parties, and who the Bulls and Notre Dame fans are. I had to learn to
speak the new language ( I spoke German, French, Russian and Polish
but not English!) I also had to learn the concept how people in
America can move so often, so easily and in such an organized way. It
took me a while to understand the process of being born in
California, accepting a job opportunity in Florida and moving on
average every 7 years.
Well, it did not take me a long time to get
attracted to this “American life style”
I remember so
well the agony of making my first important decision 10 years ago
when signing papers to purchase our first dream home... I remember
how emotionally difficult it was to sell it 3 years later when we
outgrew it... But despite our mixed emotions we have found a bigger
and better home where Katie and David, our 2 children, were delighted
to make new friends and ride their bicycles in a much bigger
subdivision with sidewalks. This was the place where David learned
how to catch frogs and fish in a nearby stream with his new friend,
Steven.
Again, we heard the voice of opportunity - another home on
the horizon - closer to my husbands work, with more storage place and
a much bigger backyard. Yes, we followed a voice and placed our
second house on the market. In “house number 3" we’ve
missed the frogs, the friendly Steve and our evening walks in the
quiet neighborhood.. But we’ve replaced it with a big circle of
new friends, bonfires in our backyard and a gorgeous rock garden.
Just when I had finished my great flower garden we’ve noticed a
2 story brick home on a ravine. It had an extra room for my husbands
computers, circular driveway with a perfect place to put a fountain
in the middle and a half an acre of the woods in the back. We could
not resist. We took a challenge and moved again.
Well, you can see
that I can identify with any of you that may be debating about
moving.
I can feel your struggle and questions and emotions - Who
to hire to be your mentor, your leader, someone you can trust? Who
has experience?
I would love to have an opportunity to meet with
You, to sit down and to listen to your needs. Whether you are the
Buyer or the Seller - I’ve been there. I will take you by hand
through the process. I will do it with compassion and my full
attention. You deserve it!
