AUGUST MEETING “RECAP”
8-19-08 meeting was held at Barb and
Jeff Starke's home. This was the annual picnic and everyone seemed to have
a great time. Apologies for any confusion to those who missed dinner,
there will be no communication confusion next year.
Jeff demonstrated the Arbortech wood carver.
Guests at the meeting included Pablo Arsenella, Brian Gordon and Doug
Somers. Doug joined the Guild at the meeting, Welcome Doug!! |

At JOHNSON’S WORKBENCH
South Bend
The September meeting will be held at Johnson's Work Bench in South Bend
on 9-16. Johnson's will be open from 6:00 to meeting start time at
7:00p.m. for shopping and browsing. Johnson's has gone above and beyond in
helping Guild members maintain discount levels on raw lumber so please
plan on attending this great meeting. The topic will be "Steam Bending"
and should prove to be a great evening!!!

- Carey Carscallen reports Andrews Univ.
has 2 10" Delta table saws for sale.
- Tom Hurst has a 3 phase 12"x46"lathe for sale.
Tom also brought a Grex pin nailer that shoots very small pin nails and
gave a great review of this tool.
- Barry Young has great info available on a 3 phase
converter through personal experience

PROJECT OF THE MONTH
Winner of the "Sawdust in the Hat" drawing for a project made from
firewood was Larry Nelson of Coloma. Great participation this month with
many members bringing in projects!
