JANUARY MEETING

"RECAP"

The 1-15-08 Guild Meeting was held at the wood shop at the F.C. Reed Middle School and hosted by instructor Hans Hile. Hans teaches a required course in woods to all 7th and 8th graders. Students are required to do a minimum of 2 projects per semester. 8th graders also get a brief course on metals; welding, forging and fabrication are included. There was no "official" program but Hans spent a good deal of time answering questions about the new Saw Stop that has become a valuable tool in the shop. He also showed the demo video.

There were many members present and Bill Nichols brought Mike Wilson as his guest.

Thanks Hans for an informative meeting and for hosting the Guild!!

Directions: Take old 31 to Berrien Springs, Turn left (going south) on Grove Street, go left at the "Y" , meeting will be in the building just past the gym on the left. Look for the tall smoke stack, the building is close to the big stack.

FYI

Jeff Starke reported anyone needing large sheets of cardboard (double wall, 85" wide, long as you'll ever need) can be gotten for free at Menasha, Coloma. This stuff would be great for a temporary paint booth, you name it!

PROJECT OF THE MONTH

Project of the month was a kitchen utensil. Bill Nichols, Dennis Szymanski, John DeLapa and Jeff Starke all contributed. Bill Nichols won the $25 gift certificate in the Saw Dust in The Hat. Next month's project will be a wooden box.
