NOVEMBER MEETING “RECAP”

The November 18th meeting was held at Tom Hurst's shop in St. Joe. Tom built his "carriage house" workshop to fit in the residential neighborhood and did an outstanding job. Tom manufactures artistic cutting boards for sale at local art fairs and went through his manufacturing process with many great tips for constructing these great looking cutting boards. Lots of good information was provided by Tom including several simple tips like: Tight Bond 1,2,and 3 is FDA approved, wax your bar clamps with paste wax to prevent glue sticking, sycamore, beech and maple are great for food contact products as they impart no "wood flavor" and using "Good Stuff" (buy it at Johnsons) for finishing your cutting boards. Great presentation Tom, thanks for opening up your shop to the guild!!!!

We welcomed Howard Childs, Wayne Rendell's guest. Also attending was Greg Luckett's son Ben. We hope to see you both at future meetings!!
